Please be advised that, if the federal government shutdown continues, you may not receive your November SNAP benefits as normally scheduled. We have asked the federal government, which pays for SNAP, for additional clarification. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will share further information as the federal government provides updates. Message from Logan County Department of Job & Family Services The Agency is also monitoring the local impact this crisis is having on our Community. The Agency tracks the local food banks for availability of services and supplies. Please contact the Agency for updated list or stop by to pick up the list in our lobby. The current list posted is for October. We will share November as soon as available. In addition to this list, there is also Our Daily Bread at Lutheran Community Services and many local churches host free meals. You may also call 211 or visit their website (211.org) for locations and information regarding local food banks. Please be aware that as SNAP Benefits end and EBT Cards are depleted that pantries will be hit very hard. Please remember that their supplies will be changing on an almost daily basis as they try to fill a portion of the gap left by the lack of SNAP funding. Your October Benefits and any prior sums will remain on your EBT Card and available for you to use until depleted. No additional funds for November will be added as of our latest information. If members of our Community are concerned about this crisis, you can assist by donating funds directly to our local food banks and pantries. The Food Banks and Pantries will know their own inventories and can use the additional funds to supplement food items that are needed.
