Prevention, Retention & Contingency (PRC)
The PRC program addresses urgent needs of employed, low-income families that if unmet could lead to a need for public assistance.
The primary focus of Logan County's PRC program is to provide assistance that will help people retain jobs and avoid the need for ongoing assistance. This could include assistance with necessary car repairs and purchase of work uniforms and equipment required for employment.
The secondary focus is to address needs that if not satisfied could endanger the health, safety or well-being of one or more household members. Examples of this type of assistance include payments for utilities to avoid shutoff or restore service and rent to avoid homelessness.
PRC funds also may be used for:
To qualify for PRC assistance a family must demonstrate need, include at least one child under the age of 19, have resided in Logan County for at least 30 consecutive days and, in most instances, have household income at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guideline. Individuals need employment of at least 30 hours per week or be a full-time student to qualify for PRC.

- Services that help preserve or reunify families. Examples of such services include therapeutic counseling, respite care, emergency shelter, parent education, case management and homemakers and home health aides.
- Services that reduce the incidence of domestic and family violence
- Transportation to access employment, child care and education and training
- Assistance for people who are employed but temporarily off work due to a medical issue or pregnancy
